Dutch bitterballen - a true snack classic.

What are bitterballen?

Bitterballen from the well-known brand MORA are breaded balls filled with a beef ragout. The bitterballen are coated with a breadcrumb mixture of coarse breadcrumbs. In addition, the breadcrumb coating is slightly thicker than the breadcrumb balls for the deep fryer, so that they also get a crispy golden-brown crust in the oven. After preparation, the coating is nice and crispy on the outside and the meat core with the beef ragout is wonderfully hot and hearty and creamy.

The crispy bitterballen are a real speciality in Holland and are very popular as a small bite to offer to guests, especially at parties and birthdays. The Bitterballen have a diameter of approx. 3 cm and can therefore be eaten in one bite. Decorated with a festive picker, bitterballen are the perfect savoury finger food for any celebration. Quick and easy to prepare.

Preparation in the oven:

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Place the frozen Mora beef croquettes in the middle of the oven rack or tray. Heat the croquettes for approx. 10-12 min. Then leave to rest for approx. 2 min - delicious!

Preparation in the Airfryer:

Preheat the Airfyer at 200 degrees. Cook the frikandel for approx. 9 min. - Heerlijk!

About Mora

The first smell of delicious croquettes and spring rolls first hit the noses of people in Maastricht in 1960. It was at this time that Marcel Mourmans developed the first delicacies with a Dutch tradition. The Mora brand was founded and more special recipes were diligently worked on. In 1972, the small butcher's shop from which work, production and delivery had started became too small and a large Mora snack empire was established. From here, the company ventured directly into the supermarkets, where it is still indispensable today.
