Peijnenburg Ontbijtkoek Breakfast Cake, 345g
This typical Dutch treat is also known in Germany as breakfast cake or honey cake. Even if the name suggests otherwise: Ontbijtkoek is not only an essential part of a Dutch breakfast. It is often eaten as a snack.
It is also affectionately called "hapkoek". It comes in different varieties, e.g. with nuts, apple/cinnamon or sugary-sweet with honey/caramel. Add a fresh cup of tea or coffee - and the little break in between is more than successful.

About Peijnenburg
Peijnenburg has been a well-known producer of delicious breakfast cakes for more than 130 years. It all began when Harry Peijnenburg opened his village bakery in the centre of Geldrop in 1883. Harry's son Johan took a bigger step in 1915 and started the industrial production of gingerbread. Because baking gingerbread is not easy, the process takes several days and every baker has his own secret recipe. Johan Peijnenburg developed into a very creative entrepreneur and paid increasing attention to beautiful packaging for his traditional Ontbijtkoeken. This remains a feature of Peijnenburg to this day.
