In 1958, Beckers introduced the very first frikandel in the Netherlands. It is based on Jan Bekkers' American journey to the United States, where he was introduced to the real snack culture. The frikandel is immediately popular and nowadays it's impossible to imagine a snack bar or supermarket without it. Over the past sixty years, Beckers has been working hard on this. Croquettes, bitterballs, oven snacks and vegetarian snacks: Beckers has become a well-known Dutch snack brand.
